About the Author
My name is Jacq Soong (Jacqueline Soong). People I know call me Jacq; my surname starts with ‘S’ and that’s where my moniker ‘jacqis’ came from. I like the look of the word ‘jacqis’ so I use it almost everywhere online.

I live in sunny, warm Singapore where I am surrounded by my family and dearest friends. Feel fortunate to have them!

So far, I have travelled to Australia (Canberra, Syndey), China (Shenzhen) , Thailand (Bangkok, Phuket), Vietnam (Ho Chinh Minh), Taiwan (Taipei, Kaohsiung), Malaysia (Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, Tioman, Sibu Island). I would love to travel to Europe (France, Italy), Asia (Siam Reap, Krabi, Phnom Phen).

Why I Created this Site

I have been blogging since 2003 but it was more for updating my friends about my happenings. Back in April 2009, I decided that I want to refresh my technical knowledge of web programming. Furthermore I am interested in social media; what better way than to have an online presence such as tweeting and blogging.

I also wanted an avenue where I could explore and write about anything that has nothing to do with work and family. Work and family take up a big chuck of my time and effort and secretly, I needed an outlet to have self expression.
